Five Scents Candles

Hi! Welcome to Five Scents Co!! We make hand crafted candles and wax melts here in our home on the farm. Our family started Five Scents Co. in January 2022, after our three children and I made candles as Christmas gifts for their teachers. We had many requests from family and friends to make more, so that’s what we did and how it all began. Our kids love to be part of making the candles and testing out all the scents in our home. As we started to get busier, my sister and her two children started to help…and our company name was born, named after our 5 little helpers!

It is very important to us that we create products for our customers that we feel safe to use in our own homes with our children and pets. All of our candles and wax melts are made of 100% soy wax. Soy wax is made from soybeans, a natural, renewable source compared to paraffin wax that is made from petroleum. Soy wax has a lower melting point than paraffin wax which will aide in a slower or longer burn time. Candles made from soy wax are non-toxic and burn cleaner, so they won’t release toxins in the air as you burn them and will produce a lot less black soot than paraffin candles.

One of the reasons we love making candles is because the scent of a candle can influence your emotions, mood and how you think. It can even change the entire feel of a room in your home. Candle scents can evoke memories from your childhood, like sitting in your grandmother’s kitchen while she baked pies or hot summer days at the beach…slathered in sunscreen, jumping waves with your family. We take pride in using all “clean” fragrance oils, which are infused with essential oils and free from toxins, carcinogens and phthalates. You can feel safe burning our candles as you relax and transpose to wherever the scent takes you.

We use a variety of vessels for our candles, including hand carved wooden bowls, as well as other glass and ceramic jars for our candles. Our wooden bowls come in different shapes and colors…heart, round, Christmas trees etc. Our hope is to provide you with a product that doesn’t end when the candle is finished. Our wooden bowls and jars add the perfect decor to your home.
